CO2 capture is rapidly gaining importance
July 11th, 2007
The scientific evidence for man-made changes in the earth’s climate as a result of so-called greenhouse gas emissions (in particular CO2) continues to increase.

The option of CO2 capture from power stations and other large central sources followed by underground storage is rapidly gaining importance. This option, referred to as CCS (Carbon dioxide Capture and Storage), is compatible with most current energy infrastructures. It is estimated that it could contribute 15-55% of the overall mitigation effort, while the inclusion of CCS in the mitigation technology portfolio.
